All power is not the same! In fact, the quality of power is far more important than the quantity of power when it comes to the realism of your Home Theatre. The amplifier section is more important than ever with the new HD audio formats. Why many receivers do not fully disclose their power under all operating conditions? Many "100 watt" receivers can only deliver a fraction of that when connected to a real loudspeaker and/or when all channels are driven. Perhaps even worse, resulting in sound quality that can sound very thin, overly bright, and lacking musical texture. And since the power is far less than "promised" when driving 5 or 6 real loudspeakers, the dynamic power required for the full intensity of a movie action scene or orchestral climax is simply not available.

NAD's approach is to optimize its power supply to properly drive real-world loudspeakers. This means a properly regulated, high-current power supply is supplied in all NAD amplifiers and receivers. Thus we can rate our receivers with ALL channels driven simultaneously, over the FULL frequency bandwidth (20Hz - 20kHz), and at rated distortion. Since real-world program material requires short bursts of very high power rather than the continuous power normally specified, we also include dynamic power ratings at 8 Ohms, 4 Ohms, and even 2 Ohms!

‘Music First’ Audio: Popular surround sound formats, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio, are decoded using the latest generation of high-speed DSP. Stereo source material can be converted to surround sound using our exclusive EARS surround mode, praised by reviewers for its natural sound quality.

Easy Control and Command: In contrast to many AV receivers, the T748 is incredibly simple and user-friendly. We include all the essentials and none of the fluff, making setup and control easy and straightforward. For convenience, we have also included connections for external control systems like Crestron, AMX, Nevo, etc.

Five Powerful AV Presets: While other AV receivers only offer one global setting for all sources, you can customise the T748 for various systems or material (Blu-ray player, action movie, music, gaming, etc.) with specific speaker settings and surround modes. Another thoughtful touch is the ability to rename Inputs to match your components.
