For the BX Centre we've demolished the limitations of entry-level design by creating a speaker that reproduces voice with unfailing detail and accuracy. Its system of twin 140mm (5 1/2") C-CAM® drivers and 25mm (1") C-CAM® tweeter complements the driver architecture of other BX series speakers, to create a wide and detailed front sound-stage, characterised by pin-point imaging.
This is Bronze BX, Monitor Audio’s new ‘entry level’ speaker range. Blending the best of its award-winning predecessors with advanced technologies from our up-market RX and flagship Platinum ranges, Bronze BX far exceeds the standards of performance and quality you’d normally expect from a speaker in its price class. Beneath the BX skin, a sophisticated acoustic design of dedicated driver chambers, rigid bracing, bolt-through drivers and hard-wired connections ensures that the sonic impact of Bronze BX is as tangible and three-dimensional as the silky BX cabinets themselves.
The gold dome tweeter is formed from a ceramic-coated aluminium/magnesium alloy, gold anodised to a specific thickness for ideal stiffness and damping characteristics. Its new profile and surround geometry have been developed using advanced modelling tools, to provide the optimum qualities for accurate sound reproduction. The new design moves the first order of breakup to beyond 35kHz, producing a linear response way beyond audibility, which matches the wide frequency bandwidth available from HD music and cinema sound formats. C-CAM driver's cones have a much higher resistance to bending stress and therefore exhibit much greater fidelity over their entire operating range. C-CAM drivers share an audible consistency producing a smooth transition of frequencies and a sense of realism and cohesion in the soundstage. Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium (C-CAM) is a material originally developed by the aerospace industry for jet engine components. Its properties are ideal for loudspeaker cones being extremely rigid, yet light enough to yield high overall efficiency. A new type of port technology which uses a straight rifled design to accelerate air flow and reduce turbulence. HiVe II technology has the ability to move air in and out much quicker than a conventional port, the result is fast powerful bass coupled with superior transient response.
- New C-CAM® tweeter has greater sensitivity and a wider bandwidth beyond 30kHz. - New C-CAM® bass and mid-range drivers refined by FEA analysis. - Single bolt-through drivers. A design feature which means the driver is not fixed to the front baffle and cannot transmit vibrations and therefore colouration to the cabinet. - Improved cabinet rigidity and stability. - HiVe®II port technology to speed the transit of air from the cabinet, resulting in more dynamic bass. - High-quality terminal panels blend easy access with high-end functionality. - Choice for high quality vinyl wood finishes: Walnut, Black Oak, Natural Oak.
