The C5 Center Channel speakers deliver their two-way systems in a dualwoofer horizontal format. Engineered to maximize performance in multichannel applications, the C4 pairs two four-inch woofers with the one-inch titanium tweeter, while the C5 employs a pair of 5-1/4-inch woofers. The cabinets are only 5-1/4-inch and 7-1/8-inch high, making them easy to place near today’s legions of new flat-screen TVs.
The woofers employ injection-molded diaphragms with a proprietary, clay/ceramic-filled polypropylene cone that uniquely optimizes stiffness, internal damping and low mass. The woofers’ magnetically neutral polycarbonate basket contributes additional stiffness, while its bullet-shaped phase-plug (borrowing from the Synchrony design) enhances linearity at higher frequencies.
